Founder Stephanie Fornash Kennedy, captivated by the islands’ bold hues and lush landscapes, transformed her passion for design into a reality. What started with custom handbags quickly evolved into a full-fledged fashion brand that caught the eye of Washington, D.C.’s style-conscious shoppers.

Just six months after selling her first handbag, Stephanie opened the FORNASH boutique in Georgetown in November 2002, creating a destination for chic, colorful fashion. By 2003, FORNASH had made its mark on the national stage, debuting at Accessories the Show in New York City and gaining recognition from top retailers across the country.

A Moment in the Spotlight

As FORNASH expanded into scarves, clothing, and—most notably—jewelry, the brand’s playful, polished aesthetic resonated with customers everywhere. A defining moment came in December 2009, when our iconic Boa Scarf was featured on Oprah’s “O List” in O, The Oprah Magazine, propelling FORNASH into the national spotlight and solidifying its status as a must-have brand.
